The ability to hire and retain employees in long-term post-acute care (LTPAC) and senior living is challenged by growing caregiver shortages, high turnover and an aging population with more intense care needs. With caregiver turnover averaging 50% in long-term care, many providers struggle to consistently fill positions with quality workers. This session will dive into proactive hiring practices and recruiting strategies to attract high quality candidates to help providers meet the AHCA/NCAL Quality Initiative goal of decreasing turnover rates by 15% or achieving/maintaining a turnover rate of 40% or less by March 2018.

"Finding, hiring and keeping quality employees are some of the most significant challenges that long-term care and senior living providers have ever experienced," stated Mark Woodka, CEO, OnShift. "Workforce issues throughout the industry are continuing to intensify. Now is the time for providers to get proactive with their efforts so they can not only improve operational and financial performance, but also deliver consistent, high quality patient and resident care."
